MoneroDir

How the index works

MoneroDir is a reference catalogue of websites and services connected to Monero: places that accept it, tools that help you use it, and projects that build on it. It exists so you can look something up quickly and see, at a glance, whether other people have had a good experience paying it in XMR.

Where entries come from

Entries are submitted by readers and operators, and gathered from public community lists. Each one is filed into a drawer (a category) and, where it fits, a sub-drawer. Nothing is filed automatically as Verified.

What the statuses mean

  • Verified: someone has tested that the site accepts Monero as described.
  • Listed: the entry passed a basic check but has not been tested end to end.
  • Questionable: users have reported problems we have not been able to rule out.
  • Scam warning: reports have been confirmed. These stay in the index so people searching for the name see the warning.

Reviews

Anyone can write a review without an account. Every review is read by a person before it appears. Operators can't remove honest negative reviews, but they can reply. Star ratings only ever come from reviews written here.

Ordering and money

Within a drawer, entries are ordered by status, then rating, then name. Paying the submission review fee does not change any of that. Outbound links to verified entries are followed; others carry nofollow.
